The NCSS component was completed in February 2011, > 8200 women were recruited into the study which represents 130% of the original target for Oxford. Congratulations to the team and to all involved!

The FGLS was completed in May 2012 and the NCSS study finished shortly afterwards in June 2012. 132% of the recruitment target has been reached for FGLS with > 660 women recruited into the study. In NCSS >7,700 women have been recruited representing 124% of the original recruitment target for Kenya. Many congratulations to the teams and all involved.

Anthropometry training and standardization sessions will be conducted in Jordan in May in collaboration with UNICEF
23/04/2012The aim is to standardize all anthropometric measurements of adults, newborns and infants so that data collected will be comparable across observers and study sites throughout the study. The lead anthropometrists from each site will participate in the training. They will use exactly the same protocol to train their local anthropometry teams for the 1 and 2-year follow-up.

Francesca Giuliani MD is a Senior International Research Associate responsible for the evaluation of the long-term growth, health and nutrition of preterm newborns and newborns with impaired fetal growth. Ilaria Rovelli MD is researching the classification of impaired fetal growth at birth and Alessia Varalda MD is supporting the 1 and 2-year follow-up and INTERBIO-21st Neonatal Study recruitment in Oxford.
